Pelargonium Cucullatum Plant
- Pelargonium cucullatum is a tall, sprawling to upright branched shrub, with the bottom of the stems becoming quite woody
- The leaves are round or kidney-shaped and cupped, sometimes succulent and have reddish tips
- Some forms have a strong, sweet scent when the leaves are crushed
- Medicinal Uses: Traditionally this pelargonium was used medicinally to cure colic, kidney ailments, diarrhoea, coughs and fevers
- The leaves were used as a poultice for bruises, stings and abscesses
Plant care:
- All Pelargoniums need afternoon shade if your area regularly sees summer temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius)
- Feed your Pelargoniums every two weeks with a balanced fertilizer like 10-10-10 or 20-20-20
- Buy fertilizer that dissolves in water for easier application
