A medication used to manage type 2 diabetes by helping control blood sugar levels in patients whose bodies do not produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively.
Indications:
- Treatment of type 2 diabetes to improve glycemic control.
- Helps reduce the risk of diabetic complications, including nerve and kidney damage.
- It can be used alongside diet and exercise to manage blood sugar levels.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Dapagliflozin 10 mg per tablet.
Precautions:
- Do not use if you are allergic to dapagliflozin or any other ingredient in the tablet.
- Contact a doctor immediately if you experience nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, excessive thirst, rapid or deep breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell on your breath, a sweet or metallic taste in your mouth, unusual urine or sweat odor, or rapid weight loss.
- Risk may increase with prolonged fasting, dehydration, excessive alcohol, sudden insulin dose reduction, major surgery, or serious illness.
Side Effects:
- Throat tightness or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue.
- Faintness or difficulty breathing.
- Hives or itching on the face or body.
Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Inform your doctor if you are taking other medicines, especially diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, or spironolactone.
- Inform your doctor if you are using other blood sugar-lowering medicines such as insulin or sulfonylureas, as dose adjustments may be required.
