- A selective COX-2 inhibitor used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders.
- It provides effective symptom control in conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs.
- Indications:
- Relief of symptoms of osteoarthritis.
- Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
- Management of ankylosing spondylitis.
- Short-term treatment of acute pain .
- Relief of gouty arthritis attacks.
- Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with hypertension, heart disease, or stroke history.
- Not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in severe liver or kidney impairment.
- Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or other NSAIDs.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly indicated.
